· Our Story ·

A leap of faith,
a life in food.

Hello! Welcome welcome, you've found us!

Jake and Abi here - the classic duo of Type A hyper-organised and Type B creative, behind Artisan at Home. Partners in business, and in life. We met nearly 8 years ago at a music festival, which is one of our big loves in life. And just as equal (if not a smidge more) was our love of food that brought us together.

The Chef

Meet
Jake.

Jake has been a professional Chef for over 20 years - from Gastro Pubs in the UK, to fine dining, vibrant Deli's and Corporate R&D in NZ. A story that Jakes parents love to tell, is when at 5 years old he ordered a Lobster chowder off the menu (and yes, his very kind parents obliged!) - so it's safe to say that he was born with a taste for great food!

A true creative at heart, if it wasn't mixing music, or donning a paintbrush Jake was thinking of new flavour combinations and pushing the boundaries of what an ingredient can do. A mantra he lives by is that everything on the plate needs to have a place and a purpose - wether its for nutrient density or flavour, it needs to have earnt the right to be there.

The Heart

Meet
Abi.

I, Abi, have always been the "foodie" of the group - the go to for brunch recommendations for as long as I can remember. From pouring through Delia Smith and Rick Stein cooking books on my Dad's bookshelf, to setting up my very own Micro-cakery.

Food is one of those things that every time I taste something beautiful, I do a little happy dance. I have such an appreciation for the art form and skill that goes into creating something aesthetically beautiful, that also tastes magical. And as luck would have it - I ended up with an incredibly talented Chef for a partner!

What Drives Us

The North
Star.

Whilst doing some extensive travel around the UK and Europe, we pondered life's big questions. What are we here to do? At some point through Southern France, with a baguette in one hand and Brie de Meaux in the other, it clicked. Our north star has always been incredible food - not just eating it, but creating the soulful, artisan experiences that make people stop and savour the moment.

And so, Artisan at Home was born. Jake brings his years of professional culinary craft to the kitchen as our Private Chef, while I handle the operations and everything in between.

In a world where everything can be manufactured, our focus is on real, honest food: spray-free, no seed oils, and locally sourced. Whether it's an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, we're here to create something effortlessly extraordinary.
